Bio
Khaleel (he/they) is a Jamaican-British event designer and cultural strategist. Community and identity have shaped their work across organisations including Trojan Records (BMG), London Fashion Week, HE.SHE.THEY, Soho House, Ballantine’s (Chivas Brothers), Barbican, The Luminaire x Mandarin Oriental and FC Bayern Munich.
In 2016, Khaleel founded Conformity Magazine - a Manchester based zine amplifying stories from queer people of colour. What began as a photography blog grew into a radio show, zine fair and online platform. By 2018, they were nominated for the Mayor of London’s Enterprise Awards and partnered with Santander to launch Conformity’s first print issue, later stocked across the UK, Sweden, Spain, South Korea, Portugal and Denmark.
Fascinated by audio-visual production, Khaleel learnt to DJ with QIPOC collective, Pxssy Palace, at Radar Radio, later securing a bi-weekly slot on Balamii FM with features on Soho Radio, NTS and Foundation FM. Their archival sets blend Caribbean and Central American sounds while spotlighting marginalised talent, with clients including YouTube, RedBull, FGUK Magazine and The Hoxton.
More recently, Khaleel has programmed and produced experiences for Soho House, building communities across the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. Developing a cultural calendar, nurturing artist relationships and championing diverse representation within luxury spaces. Going beyond creative moments of escapism, Khaleel has facilitated Diversity & Inclusion trainings, served on Inclusivity Boards and supported barrier-breaking programmes across art, film and hospitality.
